El monestir de Sant Feliu de Guíxols des de la perspectiva arqueològica: novetats i reflexions al voltant dels seus orígens

Abstract

The monumental complex of the old Benedictine monastery of Sant Feliu de Guíxols has been the subject of several archaeological interventions since the 1960s. However, most have been conditioned and limited by restoration actions or renovations resulting from changes in use. Only between 2008 and 2010 it was possible to start a scientific research project that included the execution of annual excavation campaigns. This contribution intends to show the results, while putting them in relation to those of other previous and subsequent interventions, and to make some remarks about the foundation of the monastery.
